Translated from Latin, Infero means "to fall into something, to attack, sacrifice or offer". The essential theme I dealt with during the creation is sacrifice. The sacrifice of oneself for something. To what extend can someone sacrifice themselves and what rituals and phases are attended by it?

Understanding, questioning, rejection, action and finally acceptance are states which are investigated and presented during the solo.

"But one piece stood out: 'Infero' by the Freiburg-based dancer and choreographer Katharina Ludwig. In German, 'Infero' means something like 'I carry in' or 'I sacrifice'. The title lacks a grammatical object to make it unambiguous, but Ludwig's dedication to dance can be felt at every moment. She picks up speed in short movements. The movements become larger, the impression of rapture increases, yet her dance seems so contradictory, due to an initially tense and stretched upright posture, to which arms and legs flow round movements parallel to the plane of the floor. Rigidity and slackness fight against each other here, but in a confidently controlled and highly expressive manner. Katharina Ludwig's contribution alone would have been worth a visit to the 'Lange Nacht der Kurzen Stücke'."
