Katharina is an educated dance pedagogue who regularly teaches hobby and vocational classes as well as training for professional dancers. She teaches classes that are specifically tailored to the demands of Contemporary Dancers today.
Her teaching repertory includes Contemporary, Improvisation, Classical Ballet, Jazz, as well as Fitness and Mobility Classes.
In October 2023 Katharina completed the Pretraining of the GYROTONIC© method.
Her teaching experience for professional dancers includes teaching at Tanzhaus Zurich, Tanzbüro Basel, TANZhAUS Bern, Tanznetz Freiburg as well as for various professional dance companies.
Studios that Katharina taught at include tanzplatz Vorbern, akar, ballsaal, Tanzschule Kreutzberg, tanzszene Bern, Unisport Bern, Conservatoire de Fribourg, Next Step Freiburg, Studio Pro Arte and more.
The training combines fixed movement phrases with improvisational exercises that build on contemporary technique and floorwork. The class is highly physical with an emphasis on play, groove and joy. A central focus is the dancer’s connection to music, sharpening rhythmical and musical precision, and improvisation across different musical genres. The curriculum offers a diverse range of material, from contemporary movement explorations to choreographic work, enabling dancers to deepen both their technical abilities and artistic versatility.
